Dear students
I am on a course in Combined Science at another school today, so I'm not here to teach you.
The lesson for today can instead be found here, on this website
The goal for today is to be able to explain the following:
1 Describe what is meant by wave motion as
illustrated by vibration in ropes and springs
and by experiments using water waves.
2 Distinguish between transverse and longitudinal waves and give suitable examples.
3 State the meaning of and use the terms
speed, frequency, wavelength and
amplitude.
4 Recall and use the equation v = f X λ
5 Identify how a wave can be reflected off a
plane barrier and can change direction as its
speed changes.
The ressources for this task can be found here:
Transversal and longiturnal waves
Features of transversal waves
Features of longiturnal waves
Reflection of waves
The wave equation
